Current, confirmed information about conditions on The Santa Fe to Taos Trail.
This board is for short, dated updates about conditions along the SF2T. You are encouraged to submit trail reports, and you will be credited for them. We review new information and attempt to confirm it before it appears here. Any unconfirmed reports will be marked accordingly.
Check the observed date, posted or updated date, and source or status on each bulletin. Conditions can change quickly. Always check current closure orders and other official notices on the Santa Fe National Forest and Carson National Forest websites before heading out. This board supplements—not replaces—official information and your own preparation and judgment.

Observed something other hikers should know? Please include the report type, exact location, date observed, what you saw, and whether you observed it personally or learned it from someone else.
Your name and email are required in case follow-up is needed. Reports are private and nothing is published automatically; the SF2T will review and attempt to verify all information before posting it here. We will refrain from editing what you send, but may add comments if those help clarify something.

Panchuela Campground is closed from May 4 to September 30th

Trail conditions, May 8
Lower elevations are clear, but at least one section of trail is still dangerous enough that most hikers won’t be comfortable with it. Might be cleared by late next week. Water sources are fine, but water flows are at critically low levels for this time of year.
