The Santa Fe to Taos Thru-Hike

The Santa Fe to Taos thru-hike goes from the Santa Fe Plaza all the way to Taos Plaza over the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. It is 132 miles long, spans four counties – Santa Fe, Rio Arriba, Mora, and Taos – and crosses the Santa Fe National Forest, The Pecos Wilderness, and Carson National Forest.

We have Gaia GPS maps documenting every step of the thru-hike.

From this view, you would be on the Continental Divide Trail. The SF2T thru-hike and the Continental Divide Trail cross for just a bit. The view up here is great, but I can't advise it as a campsite. If a thunderstorm blows in, you'll regret it. Riley and I stayed about 3/4 of a mile away, down at Los Esteros, which is a boggy pond (but still nice and a reliable water source) and still had a wild night with the storms there.
